Well Hello Very-Neglected-Little-Blog

Fancy meeting you here? Number Three just told me that she wouldn't mind if I blogged more often, so in order to appease her (and get back into the swing of things on here). I've decided to write about this (crazy, whacked out, redonkeykong) dream I had last night.

You recognize that precious face, dontcha?

This is the face that appeared in my dreams last night. Pleasant, huh?

Let me set the scene for you. I was lounging around at our Catholic Student Center at school. This is not unusual, considering the fact that I spend almost every waking moment there. I'm just minding my own business when a strange figure appears, hovering over the ground. (Side Note: I'm thinking I combined Voldemort and a dementor into one person, because he was sucking happiness out of people left and right.) I recognize that it's Voldemort (because of the movies, naturally) and he approaches me and tells me that if I didn't give him a massage, he would kill me.

I don't really remember much other than that. I'm now attempting to figure out where this bizarre dream came from with not much luck. The only thing I can draw a connection to is one of my friends who always asks for massages (cough Pinocchio...). I'm not sure if P is supposed to be Voldemort or if he just told Voldy that I give good massages...Either way, I'm going to have to have a word with him...

It was certainly one of the most bizarre dreams I have ever experienced. Makes for a good story though.

Sweet Dreams, munchkins!

PS. I get to see #3 tomorrow! : )

You know what I find really crazy? How just a few days in average, everyday life can completely change my world. Like, really, y'all. For reals, for reals.

So this weekend I staffed a confirmation retreat for a group of Juniors in high school. I've done plenty of these over the course of this past year since I'm on the retreat team at my parish. No BD, right?

Wrong. So VERY wrong. My life was rocked, big time.

I learned many things.

One. I need to start being a real woman. Seriously. I was so inspired by the men that I staffed with. They were the real deal. They gave me so much hope, hope that I was running really short on. They showed me what a Christ-like man really is. I was reflecting yesterday on this about how I can help more men to be this way and I realized all of a sudden that we women need to be Christ-like for them. These men taught me all of this and you want to know what the best part was? They changed me, and they have no idea. So if any of you men read this, thank you. You called me on, big time.

Two. My sisters. I need my flipping sisters so much more than I ever realized. The women (the staffers AND the retreatants) totally inspired my heart. I got to spend a lot of time with women at this retreat, and it was so FIYA AWESOME. We laughed a lot, and even cried a little, and it was incredible. I realized that I need all of my female friendships to be like that. One retreatant in particular totally stood up for the rest of the girls during one of the girls sessions. It really spoke to me that we girls need to stick together instead of being the catty little girls we sometimes are. So great.

Three. I need more laughter in my life. It seems obvious, right? This weekend we were all unafraid to be silly. We had impromptu dance parties, an EPIC bonfire sing-a-long, and random clumsy moments (I seem to recall a spilled glass of orange juice) :). And, get this, none of us were embarrassed to be who we were. It was something I haven't experienced in a long time. It invigorated me.

All in all, when it was all over, I couldn't stop smiling. Who knew that an ordinary weekend could turn into something so extraordinary.

I hope you all have an amazing week.

Quick Update

I've decided to take on a new daily task: brightening people's days. I recalled today how much I love it when people send me random, out-of-the-blue text messages telling me to have a good day. I figure this must make other people happy as well, so I will, from this day forth, choose three random people a day to text message. Hey, it's even brightened my day doing so. I kind of see it as killing two birds with one stone.

I hate that saying.

Anyways, I have a pretty scary History Exam on Friday. (prayers much appreciated) I have to read this awful book about Flappers. Those who have seen me lately have been so very lucky to witness my griping. Seriously, these girls should thank their lucky stars I was not alive during the 20's. I would have told them a little something, something.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

So I've decided to follow the crowd...

So, I've decided to join Blogger.

I know, it is very against what I'm all about to follow the crowd to a slightly less cool blog host, but I really want to be able to keep up with all of the other blogs my friends write. I'm not saying that Blogger is sub-par by any means, however I found OnSugar to be a little more user friendly. Nevertheless, greetings Blogger! I hope we can be friends. You'll have to bear with me as I am not the most computer savvy person in the world. I do love to write though. Hopefully we can at least try to get along.

If anyone actually reads this and wants a little background, here's my blog at my OnSugar account. I'm a little attached, so I thought I would keep it up. For a little while at least.
